Billboarded Sprites. In this tutorial i'm going to walk through my process for setting up billboarded sprites in unity to cast shadows as well as receive lighting from the world around them, and in future. This package includes 50 (flat plus shaded) foliage sprites for use as billboards in 3d worlds, or for building foliage models.
The most common answer is to just rotate the sprites so that they look at the camera (or to make their forward the negative of the camera’s forward) but having them actually rotate. I got this code for billboarding i created (with the help of others, and a nehe tutorial), but it seems that when i move my sprites from 0,0,0 it stops working correctly,.
